Working Draft of Principles and Goals
Discuss this in the forums.
The Economic Crisis
It was caused by government, NOT the market. Central banking practices around the world acted to distort the global market via their control of interest rates and their engagement in open market activites. Most prominent in these activities were the Federal Reserve of the United States and the European Central Bank of the European Union. Central Banks are government-ordained monopolies.
Against Unjust War
The true conservative position is inherently peaceful. The rise of the neoconservative concept of preventative war (eg. Iraq) is dangerous and should be rejected.
Civil Liberties
Principles of the Magna Carta, Common Law, Habeas corpus, protection against unreasonable search an seizure and requirement of search warrants from an independent judge, are all sacrosanct and under absolutely no circumstances should be interfered with.
Socialist Regional Unions
We oppose all the moves for further regional integration including the:
* Proposed North American Union - Forcing US/Canada into a superstate with Mexico
* Proposed Asia Pacific Union - Forcing Australia/NZ into a superstate with Asia
* Further EU integration (Lisbon Treaty)
Like the United Nations, these are attempts to move government further away from the control of individuals and splinter and destroy western culture and traditions of individual liberty.
For Free Trade - Against Managed Trade
A lot of "free trade" agreements that exist between governments today are not free trade at all. They are managed trade agreements benefiting big corporations and political elites and are designed to facilitate the introduction of socialist regional unions and global governance. Examples of managed-trade in the guise of free-trade would include NAFTA as well as trading arrangements in the European Union. We favour true free trade between freedom-loving sovereign nations.
Promoting Candidates
We should co-operate globally on the internet to promote liberty-minded political candidates in any country.
Education
Those of us in western countries, with stronger traditions of liberty, should help to educate those in countries where these traditions are lacking and information is not avaliable.
